BACK PAIN ACUPUNCTURE · WATERLOO
Back pain keeping you from doing what you love?
Whether it’s a nagging ache, a recent flare-up or pain that keeps coming back, acupuncture can help you move more comfortably and get back to your everyday life.
BACK PAIN CAN SHOW UP IN DIFFERENT WAYS
Back pain isn’t always the same. It might be a dull ache that never quite goes away, a sharp catch when you move, or a flare-up that suddenly makes everyday things harder.
You might notice it most when you first get out of bed, after sitting too long, when you bend or twist, or after a day that was simply a little too much.
Does this sound familiar?
Back pain I commonly see:
• Low back pain and stiffness
• Pain after sitting or standing too long
• Pain with bending, lifting or twisting
• Recurring back pain and flare-ups
• Muscle tension and aching
• Back pain that travels into the hip or buttock
HOW ACUPUNCTURE MAY HELP
A different way to approach back pain.
When your back is already sore, tight or sensitive, the last thing you may want is more attention directly on the painful spot. My style of acupuncture usually uses points away from where you’re hurting, so I rarely need to needle directly into your sore back.
Because the painful area is left free, you may notice pain easing or movement opening up while the needles are still in.
At the end of each treatment, I’ll check your pain and movement again. The changes I see help guide your next treatment.

IS ACUPUNCTURE RIGHT FOR YOUR BACK PAIN?
You don’t have to wait until it gets really bad.
Some people come in after a sudden flare-up. Others have been living with an achy, stiff or temperamental back for months — or even years.
Acupuncture may be worth considering if your back pain keeps returning, limits how comfortably you move, or is starting to get in the way of work, sleep, exercise or the things you enjoy.
