HEADACHE & MIGRAINE ACUPUNCTURE · WATERLOO
Tired of headaches getting in the way of your day?
Whether it’s tension and pressure, pain that starts in your neck, or migraines that stop you in your tracks, acupuncture may help reduce symptoms and help you get back to feeling like yourself.
HEADACHES & MIGRAINES CAN SHOW UP IN DIFFERENT WAYS
Headaches can feel very different from person to person. You might notice a dull ache or pressure, tightness that starts in your neck and shoulders, throbbing pain, or a migraine that makes it difficult to carry on with your day.
Some come on after long hours at a computer or periods of stress. Others seem to follow a familiar pattern — triggered by hormonal changes, shifts in the weather, or certain times of the month — and keep returning.
Does this sound familiar?
Headaches & migraines I commonly see:
• Tension headaches
• Headaches that start in the neck or shoulders
• Migraines
• Throbbing or one-sided headaches
• Headaches with light or sound sensitivity
• Recurring headaches that keep coming back
HOW ACUPUNCTURE MAY HELP
A different way to approach headaches.
When you have a headache or migraine, I choose acupuncture points based on where and how you're experiencing your symptoms. Some points may be near the head or neck, while others may be elsewhere on the body.
I don't necessarily need to needle directly into the area that hurts. When the painful area is left free, we can check whether the pressure or pain is changing while the needles are still in.
I’ll check in with you during treatment to see how you’re feeling. How your headache and movement respond helps me adjust your treatment as we go.

IS ACUPUNCTURE RIGHT FOR YOUR HEADACHES OR MIGRAINES?
You don’t have to keep planning around your headaches.
Some people come in when headaches start happening more often. Others have dealt with a familiar pattern for years — tension headaches, migraines, or headaches that seem to follow stress, hormonal changes or shifts in the weather.
Acupuncture may be worth considering if your headaches keep returning, interfere with work or sleep, make you cancel plans, or leave you wondering when the next one will hit.
